Cars and what they sell for
Two registers, kept apart: the sums declared on vehicle sale contracts filed with Regitra, month by month, and the vehicles announced and sold at bailiff auctions. Neither is arithmetic on the other.
Declared prices
This is the sum the buyer and the seller wrote on the sale contract they filed with Regitra. Nothing checks it against the vehicle, so it is the DECLARED CONTRACT SUM — not a market price and not what a car is worth. Only euro-denominated sale contracts are counted.

How many change hands
Every euro sale contract of the month, whatever sum was declared. The payment columns add up to the contract count beside them — the register uses these four values and no others.

Bailiff auctions
The Centre of Registers withholds small counts: instead of a number it publishes the marker "<6". Such a row is worth between 1 and 5 units and there is nothing narrower to know about it. Every year containing one is therefore shown as a range, "from X to Y" — never as a single number and never as its midpoint.
Quarterly aggregates from the bailiffs' information system (AIS) for road vehicles. "Announced" is how many were put up for sale; "Sold" is how many were sold, and those years count the quarter the sale COMPLETED rather than the quarter it was announced. The two columns must not be subtracted from one another.

What kind of vehicle
Every auction announced since 2013, by the AIS vehicle subtype. Codes 14 „Keleivinis automobilis" and 49 „Lengvasis automobilis" both mean an ordinary passenger car and are merged into one row here — listed apart they would show the same category twice.

What these numbers mean
Only contracts whose document kind is a sale contract and whose currency is the euro are counted. Gifts, inheritances, court decisions and the residue of litas-denominated rows are left out: none of them is a price anyone paid.
The three amount columns split that month's contracts into four equal parts: a quarter of the declared sums fall below the first threshold, half below the middle one, and only a quarter rise above the third.
Those thresholds are computed over sums between 100 and 500,000 EUR only. The register's amount is a free-text field: the largest value found in it — 20,260,225 — is a date typed into the money box. Both counts, all contracts and the ones counted, sit side by side in the table so the size of the clip is visible.
A month is not final when it ends. Regitra loads the register once a week, on Mondays, and about a seventh of every load is backdated — a March contract can arrive in September. The last twelve months or so are therefore still filling, and the current month is not shown at all.
The declared-price and the auction sections are not comparable with one another: the first is hundreds of thousands of private contracts a year, the second a few hundred forced sales published as quarterly aggregates with small cells withheld. No ratio or share between them appears on this page.
